Dance, It’s Your Life to Embody

Bellydancer

Bliss's belly dance workshops and classes are designed to help students connect with their bodies and develop their technique and performance skills while having the time of their lives.

Bellydancing originated in the Middle East and North Africa. It emphasizes fluid movements of the hips, torso, and arms, as well as strength, flexibility, and grace.  Precise percussive movements of the body are also a mark of great technique and ability in the artform. Bliss has sought out training with many of the most respected instructors in the craft.

Partner Dance

Bliss’s partner dancing classes focus on developing strong fundamentals, connection & communication between partners while encouraging students to explore their own creative expression.

Flow Artist

Fire dance and flow arts (spinning props without fire) came into Bliss’s life in the early 2000 and quickly sparked a creative energy that had her hosting fire jams in her back yard, starting a fire troupe and teaching weekly classes. Her primary props are fans, double staves, and buugeng. However she has been seen spinning poi, contact staff, hula hoop, contact juggling, whips, rope dart and more. For many years she has taught workshops, classes and private lessons in Sacramento and the bay. She traveled extensively in the before times teaching and performing bellydance & fire dance at Fire Drums, Wild Fire, PacFire, Camp Fire, Inspiration and Humboldt Juggling Festival. Bliss has performed at events such as Wanderlust, Health and Harmony Festival, Symbiosis, Mystic Garden Party, The Great Circle at Burning Man, Fractal Nation, SF, LA and London Burning Man Decompressions along with numerous private events. Circa 2008, Bliss traveled from coast to coast teaching fire art in communities across the country. Her most notable artistic productions in this art form was Portal, produced by Khan Wong, and many years performing at Flow Show SF. She was a founding member of SaDa Fuego and a performer in Liquid Fire Mantra and The Pyronauts, an international fire troupe as well as a guest in many ensembles. Out of desire and creativity, she founded a welding shop, Bliss Formations, where she designed and fabricated equipment for flow artists. Her signature fan was based off the Flower of Life pattern.

Bliss is also an instructor from the Fire Walking Institute. Bliss was honored to facilitate a fire walk at the Alaska fire dancing festival, “Inspiration”. In addition she has trained to facilitate board breaking, arrow breaking, and other empowerment experiences.
